about the location
The location of our restaurant is an integral part of Pangaea, as it makes us able to offer the freshest ingredients possible. If we were in a city, the mesclun mix for our salads could never be as fresh as 15 minutes out of the ground. Being friends and neighbors with people who are so personally invested in the food they produce only enhances and complements the pride and care that we take in selecting and preparing dishes for our changing, seasonal menu.
a choice of ambience
We are pleased to offer four distinct venues for your dining, business, and special celebration needs. The restaurant offers fine dining in the Main Dining Room.
For lighter fare, more casual dining, and a global beer list, check out the Lounge. Don't miss the cozy, plant filled Sun Room, tucked in back of the Lounge, facing Paran Creek.
The 40 seat outdoor Terrace is our newest addition, offering the Lounge menu, top shelf liquors, and specially selected wines, chosen because they are both affordable and delicious.
special events
We always have lively conversation and debate at our Wine Tastings, where we encourage that the wines be tasted at intervals throughout the meal to shed light on how a wine might be mismatched to the appetizer only to be perfect with the entree, or the dessert.
In August, 2003, Fritz Hasselbach joined us for a delightful food and wine pairing at Pangaea highlighting Gunderloch Winery, honored by Wine Spectator an unprecedented three times with perfect 100 scores.
One such event we hold biannually: Gourmet Beer Tasting Sarah Karlavage, guest speaker from the Merchant du Vin, recognized as America's premier specialty beer importer, leads us through a fun filled night of gourmet beer and food.
We love to get out to the local Farmer's Markets whenever we can to do Cooking Demonstrations with our abundance of fresh local ingredients.
We are also pleased to be in collaboration with Bennington College's Quantum Leap program to help keep at-risk kids rooted in school and community. The group is taught how to prepare a meal which they then help serve to community members, family and mentors, at a dinner held to raise funds for the program.
